On Tuesday, PCSO Rawson was out on joint proactive patrols with an Environmental Enforcement Officer from North East Derbyshire. These patrols focused on tackling fly-tipping, monitoring environmental concerns, and checking compliance with a closure order at Setcup Lane Allotments. Working together allows us to use our combined powers to deal more effectively with environmental and community issues.
Patrols were carried out in Renishaw, Marsh Lane, and Ridgeway, with particular attention given to Eckington.
While patrolling Setcup Lane Allotments, officers located a male on site. The allotments are currently subject to a closure order, which legally prohibits anyone from entering the site without permission or lawful authority.
Mason Wilkinson aged 27 was arrested and charged with: - Breaching a court order Possession of cannabis
He has since been bailed and is due to attend Chesterfield Magistrates on 05/02/2026.
What is a Court Order? A court order is a legal instruction issued by a court that must be followed. Breaching a court order is a criminal offence and can result in arrest, prosecution, and further penalties. Closure orders are put in place to protect public safety, prevent crime, and address ongoing issues at specific locations.
We will continue working closely with partner agencies to keep our communities safe, address environmental concerns, and take action where laws are breached.
If you have concerns about fly-tipping or environmental issues in your area, please report them. Together, we can make a difference.
